Have a question about how to do something without leaving home? See options, below!
How do I get or dropoff paperwork? What about signatures?
Most of the time, getting and signing paperwork in person is not necessary. You can use USPS.com, Fedex.com, UPS.com all pickup and dropoff at your door and will deliver supplies like boxes and envelopes for free! USPS.com and Amazon.com sell stamps online.
Many documents can be signed electronically if they are emailed to you through a service such as DocuSign or SignatureFlow. Furthermore, you can turn a paper document into a document you can email with a smartphone using an app like CamScanner. You can sign your own documents using something like HelloSign or Smallpdf.
How do I go to the doctor or psychiatrist virtually? Or pickup medications?
Wondering which online physician service to choose? Rave has one of many reviews showing the best online physicians at https://www.ravereviews.org/health/best-online-doctor/. These services are amazing and quick. They may require you to submit a picture and describe symptoms, and the doctors will ask appropriate questions. You may be surprised at the level of service you get online!
E-counseling.com has a list of top Psychologist Services you can visit HERE.
Call your pharmacist to find out out medication delivery. You may be surprised how many will deliver. Contact Skidmore pharmacy HERE. Walgreens, CVS, PillPack, InsiderRX, and many other groups will deliver uncontrolled substances by mail, often at a substantial discount. Ask about the blisterpack option if you take a lot of medications for greater convenience! (Here’s a nice list of controlled substance medications.)
Can I go to church virtually?
Soooooo many virtual churches! Be sure to ask your local church if they will be offering virtual services and which one they would recommend, if they do not offer one of their own. You might be surprised at what you find out!
I want to spend more time with family and friends. How do we do that, if not in person?
There are so many great ways to do this! Be sure to text or use Facebook Messenger. We love swapping .gifs and photos using Messenger! Try doing group texts with different family groups, which can be fun. Also, video chats with Facebook, Skye, Facetime, and other options are a great way to spend face-to-face time with people you love. Find out which platforms (like Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and others) your favorite people love, and be sure you’re connected there.
I need to hold a meeting. How do we do that online?
Personally, we use Zoom for our virtual meetings, but there are SO many options available, depending on what your goals are. EventManagerBlog has a lovely blog on the best Tools, Ideas and Tips for Virtual Meetings. Did you know that some (like Zoom) even offer ASL and interpreters? Amazing.
“Things may not be normal for a while and the faster we accept that and work together, the better off we will be as a society going forward. Listen to the people who are concerned about you and the future. Check on your friends and neighbors. Be prepared to share and help. Think we, not me. That will be our saving grace when we look back at this.”
Lauri Hennessey, League of Education Voters CEO (quote from a friend)
